Adnan Abbas was martyred in Karachi after being targeted by terrorists on Wednesday. He has now been laid to rest with full state honours in his native town Bakot Sharif. His body arrived from Karachi and he lay for a period before funeral services started at noon local time, reports Pakistan Point News (PPN).
- Adnan Abbasi was fatally shot by unidentified assailants on Sunday night in the city.
- He had returned to his village after completion of studies abroad where he completed graduation with honours from London University and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School, reports PPN.
- His body was shifted to Bakot Sharif at around noon local time on Tuesday following a ceremony held in Karachi’s Liaquat National Bagh ground where the Pakistan Army presented their ceremonial salute with his mother and family members present, reports PPN.
- During funeral prayers yesterday afternoon he was accorded full state honours as per tradition of Pakistani martyrs during burial services in this country. He is buried next to other relatives who lost their lives for the sake of Islam at different points throughout history and now Pakistan, reports PPN.
- The 31 year old Shaheer Adnan Abbasi was a resident of Bakot Sharif where he lived with his parents Ibrahim Abbasi (father) Naeem Abbasi who is respected as Master in the village, nephew to master Abdul Qayyum and son Mohammad Ataiq.
- He has been survived by a wife Fatima Begum Adnan Abbas along with his children Ali Ahmed Shaheer (3) and Hina Rabia Atif (7). His parents are now in the city of Bakot to receive visitors, reports PPN.
