FIA Immigration Foils Human Trafficking Attempt at Karachi Airport
- It’s important to note that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has successfully thwarted a human smuggling attempt involving four individuals, including an Indian agent connected with one of them. Four passengers were arrested while trying to bypass immigration checks for illegal entry into Europe from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on Tuesday night.
- The accused include Haseeb Ahmed and Qaiser Ahmed, both hailing from Faisalabad City; Usman Ali of Chiniot’s Pindi Peera village; as well as the agent Abdul Shakoor who is currently in a safe house under FIA protection.
- “I have received information that some passengers will travel via Dubai for Poland,” said senior officer Nauman Akhtar, adding he had been informed of this by an informant. “These people are notorious and I am sure they would be looking at Europe soon.”
“The accused were allotted Rs1.4 million for each individual from India,” said investigating officer Syed Shamsuddin.
In light of the above, FIA has detained four passengers in connection to a human smuggling operation and after thorough investigation found evidence suggesting that there may be more travelers involved than previously disclosed. The accused were allotted Rs 1 million per person by Abdul Shakoor as an advance for illegal migration from Pakistan.
