KARACHI: Jamaat-i-Islami Condemns Israeli Atrocities in Gaza
The Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) organized a large rally in Karachi on Sunday to show solidarity with the people of Gaza and condemn Israeli actions against innocent civilians. A significant number of JI activists and supporters, including women and children, traveled from various parts of the city to participate in the ‘Gaza March’ at Nishan-i-Pakistan, Seaview.
Carrying Palestinian flags, banners, and placards, the participants chanted anti-Israel slogans, labeling the Zionist regime’s actions as a “genocide” against Palestinians.
Monem Zafar, JI-Karachi chief, addressed the gathering, stating that Palestinians have endured Israeli atrocities for 450 days, while most world powers and Muslim countries remain silent about the human rights abuses in Gaza. He criticized the Islamic countries’ lack of courage and dignity, saying:
> “There are 57 Islamic countries with millions of soldiers and advanced weaponry, but unfortunately, they all lack the courage to stand up for Palestine.”
He further divided the world into two categories: those with conscience who protest against Israeli apartheid globally, even in Tel Aviv, and those supporting Israel, including the US and its allies. He urged the Pakistani government to take concrete international steps to alleviate Gaza’s suffering.
Praising the participants’ show of solidarity, Zafar encouraged Karachiites to continue boycotting “Israeli products” and asked youth to amplify Palestinian voices on social media.
