Meanwhile, a man named Muhammad Akhtar (29) and woman Gulsana Hussain (45), were also victims in an apparent ‘honour’ killing case where they were fatally shot near Wangi Goth in Manghopir on Friday. According to the local SHO Imran Ahmed Khan, these two individuals belonged from different regions of Pakistan – Muhammad Akhtar was originally a resident of Punjab whereas Gulsana Hussain hailed from Naushehrafoe Residency (Naushera). The couple were allegedly attacked by armed men during their journey on foot. Investigators are still in the process to identify and arrest those responsible for this horrific act of violence, which is believed to stem from a deep-rooted personal grudge or ‘honour’ issue.
The local police have collected about 15 spent bullet casings as evidence at both crime scenes that could assist with further investigations into these tragic events and the identification of those behind them. The SSP Mastoi has assured continuous efforts by law enforcement in bringing to justice all parties involved, while also expressing condolences for the families affected due to this unfortunate series of incidents during a time when such acts go against societal norms across Pakistan and worldwide._
